Team NetApp - the path to the pinnacle of world cycling.
With a German license, an international organization and a new sponsoring philosophy, Team NetApp is pursuing its path to the pinnacle of world cycling.
Team NetApp started out in 2010 as a Continental team with the declared goal of rising to the top ranks of world cycling. The young team managed to claim 50 results during 100 days of racing. Team NetApp finished its first season as the most successful new team on the UCI Europe Tour with six wins, 30 top-ten finishes and numerous classification jerseys. That success was crowned with an immediate promotion into cycling’s second league. The mission for 2010 was therefore fulfilled.
The 2011 Pro Continental circuit offered Team NetApp a first-class racing schedule. The team justified its invitations to races such as Paris-Roubaix, the Tour of California and the Tour de Suisse by displaying an aggressive, attention-grabbing and successful style of racing. Podium spots in the general classification at the Österreich-Rundfahrt, Tour of Britain and Tour de l’Ain showed that the team is on the right track.
Based on the experiences of the past two years, Team NetApp will once again be the top German pro team as it goes into the 2012 racing year. The team will be made up of 17 riders from nine countries, including seven new signings. Consistent with the team philosophy, sponsor NetApp, a globally active IT company for storage and data management, is giving the still-young team the time it needs for healthy and steady growth.
Team NetApp adheres to certain values in its pursuit of top performance during this period: Team spirit, commitment, honesty and openness are demonstrated by the main sponsor NetApp and are the prerequisite in terms of successfully mastering the path to the top.
The well-coordinated and professional team management, based around the team’s manager Ralph Denk, along with sport directors Jens Heppner and Enrico Poitschke, as well as its mechanics and physiotherapists, will continue to support the team. The team will receive additional assistance from its experienced co-sponsors, who are providing first-class equipment for success.
In the coming season as well, Team NetApp intends to do more than just keep up. It intends to set the pace!
