Team NetApp ends the Course de Solidarnosc with a successful result

Vitali Popkov (ISD-Lampre) won the final stage of the polish tour, the „Course Cycliste de Solidarnosc et des Champions Olympiques“ after a solo attack. He pushed ahead of Nikolai Trusov (RusVelo) and Andrea Palini (Team Idea). Bartosz Huzarski was the best Team NetApp rider, coming into the finish in 5th place.
Bartosz Huzarski ends the tour in the second place in the general classification with a mere 5 seconds deficit on winner Mariusz Witecki (Bank BGZ). André Schulze wins the points classification.
Bartosz Huzarski once again gave it his all today, in order to make up the slight gap in the general classification through a time bonification. But Witecki counter-attacked so we only came close to one second,“ says Enrico Poitschke, Sport Director of Team NetApp after the final stage.
“I am really happy with the Team. We are taking three victories, the second place in the general classification and the points jersey back home. That’s nothing to sniff at. But we also suffered real losses. Grischa Janorschke broke his collar bone again. Timon Seubert had to go home early as well. We hope that both of them will recover quickly from their injuries," is the summary by Enrico Poitsche, Sport Director of Team NetApp.
Whilst the next few weeks will be race-free for most Team NetApp riders, from the 10th July, Bartosz Huzarski will compete in the Tour of Poland as the Captain of the Polish National team. Huzarski ended the WorldTour-Race last year ranking 7th in the general classification.
