Team NetApp starts the Dutch Food Valley Classic

Team News | 14.08.2012

After tours in France and the USA, Team NetApp starts the 27th edition of the Dutch one-day race “Dutch Food Valley Classics” next Friday. First held in 1985, the Dutch race has been upgraded since 2011 to category 1.1. This year’s new course of the second largest race in Holland is 210 kilometers long. The traditional start and finish remains in Veenendal. The stretch, which now goes through the region Nijmegen, is as always characterized by small, short climbs and cobblestone passages. Moreover, two loops with mountains have to be tackled this year.

“It is still important to race attentively at the beginning of the new route, but also during the whole race, since the course is very susceptible to wind. The outcome of the race is extremely dependent on the general weather conditions and, as I’ve mentioned, the unknown wind conditions make it difficult to provide a prediction,” explains Jens Heppner.

Line-Up:
Jerome Baugnies, Markus Eichler, Blaz Jarc, Matthias Brändle, Andreas Schillinger, Andre Schulze, Michael Schwarzmann
