Blaz Jarc third in the final stage of the Tour of Austria

The final stage of the 64th Tour of Austria was decided, as expected, by a mass sprint. The Italian Danile Colli (Type 1 – Sanofi) won in the photo finish ahead of Alexey Tsatevich (Katusha) and Team NetApp rider Blaz Jarc.
The general classification was not affected by the last stage. Jakob Fuglsang (Radioshack – Nissan) wins the tour. Marcel Wyss from Team NetApp ends the race, which featured a good field of riders, in 8th place.
“We’ve been on the podium four times and with Marcel Wyss, we are placed in the top ten in the general classification. Even though we were aiming for a stage win, we can be really pleased with our performance in this tour. The guys fought well and at every stage we were among those in front“, Jens Heppner, Sport Director of Team NetApp, summarizes the Tour of Austria.
“Marcel and Leopold Koenig showed that they have come through their long breaks due to injury well. For the others this was more a test of their strength after the Giro and it has shown us that we can enter into the second half of the season optimistically,“ says Heppner.
