Bartosz Huzarski finishes in the top ten at Druivenkoers – Overijse

Björn Leukemans (Vacansoleil) of Belgium was able to claim victory for the third time in a row in the 52nd running of the Belgian Druivenkoers – Overijse race, thus relegating Dmitriy Muravyev (Astana) and his teammate Johnny Hoogerland to second and third place. Bartosz Huzarski was Team NetApp's best rider, finishing the race in eighth place.
Following a loop of just under 128 km around Overijse, where the race starts and finishes, the riders rode eight local laps, each measuring 10.3 km. The race immediately started out with a three-man breakaway group, which also included Team NetApp's Jan Barta. The trio was able to establish a maximum lead of five minutes and even take a bit of a lead with them into the final laps before being caught by the peloton five laps before the finish. Riders kept attacking on the final laps. A lead group with eleven riders – including Bartosz Huzarski and Daniel Schorn – then managed to break away. The ultimate winner ended up attacking from this group, reaching the finish with a narrow 6-second lead.
"This course was much harder than yesterday's race, but we still rode well. We were represented in each decisive group from the very beginning. We wanted to have an impact on the race and we managed to do that. I am satisfied with our performance and our top ten finish," Jens Heppner said after the race.
